ATEEC was funded by the National Science Foundation (DUE #0702439) to incorporate a Sustainable Energy Resource section under the umbrella of the existing Environmental Technology Resource Center. To move towards this goal, the first major activity was to hold two national “Defining the Field” forums in Chicago--one for environmental technology and one for energy technology. The forums brought together educators, industry, researchers, and government representatives from across the country to help ATEEC analyze the role of technicians in these fields.
