Dalum Landbrugsskole – Dalum Agricultural College

Dalum Agricultural College is one of Denmark’s largest and oldest agricultural colleges. Today Dalum is a modern international college for furthering agricultural education with proud traditions and a historical atmosphere.

At Dalum Agricultural College, each module of agricultural education is represented. The college offers a basic qualification course for agricultural education and two main courses, which are obligatory in farmer education.

A necessity of the agriculture education in Denmark is management. The management education at Dalum is an independent program which is divided into three modules. The first module in the educational course is production manager. The second module, which depends on participation in the first module, is farming manager. The third and last module in the education is agrarian economist.

Beyond this, the college offers a two-year academy education for advisers, teachers, and other persons who want employment in the service trade within the area of agriculture. The education is called farming technologist and is offered in cooperation with a large commercial college in town.

Dalum Agricultural College is the largest college of its kind in Denmark with its 300 students. The faculty consists of 35 permanent teachers and 35 part-time instructors. The college also has a large culinary department, which is responsible for the large number of activities, meetings, and conferences.

 


EUC Syd

EUC Syd is a vocational college for trades and industry founded in the 1920s as a ‘school for crafts’ for young people in southern Denmark. Today, it is a modern vocational and continuing education college offering a rich variety of activities at a high professional standard.

Numerous long-term study programs are offered at the college, ranging from basic vocational education to higher technical studies and advanced engineering studies.

EUC Syd is situated at the gateway to Europe, within easy reach either by motorway from Hamburg (two hours), domestic flight from Copenhagen (45 minutes), or by international train service.

The college is located at eight different sites in four towns (Sønderborg, Aabenraa, Tønder, and Haderslev), all in the southern region of Denmark.

The activities at Sønderborg, Aabenraa, Haderslev, and Tønder make EUC Syd one of the largest regional vocational training centers in all of Denmark. With a total area of more than 100,000 square meters of buildings and facilities, EUC Syd is an influential educational institution in the south Jutland region. The total economic turnover is approximately DDK 370 million (EURO 49 million), with a student population of approximately 3,000. We have a teaching faculty of 300 and our staff numbers 150.

The region is known for being a center for high technology export industries. All campuses are well equipped with modern classrooms, workshops, and comprehensive library facilities. The college offers comfortable housing for 400 students in Sønderborg, Haderslev, and Tønder, all with good options for leisure facilities nearby.
