Dear Clean Energy Colleague,
The Transformative Change Initiative, co-led Office of Community College Research and Leadership and The Collaboratory, working in partnership with the Interstate Renewable Energy Council (IREC) and the US Department of Energy, is pleased to invite you to a one-day invitation-only workshop in Baltimore, Maryland on February 18th, 2015.
Note: the deadline for hotel registration is the 20th of January.
With both residential and non-residential markets growing rapidly and continuous changes in solar technology, the need for high quality solar instruction has never been greater. This is reflected in the fact that many of the recipients of the Department of Labor’s Trade Adjustment Assistance Community College Career Training (TAACCCT) grants are using the funds to develop solar training. The purpose of this workshop is to build on and extend the ongoing Solar Instructor Training Network by building strong links to TAACCCT-funded instructors, and by discussing strategies for improving the ways that materials and insights about instructional strategies are shared. The group of approximately 20 people will include instructors actually building and delivering courses or course components on photovoltaics, business leaders, and subject matter experts.
Attendees will have the opportunity to meet other leaders in their field. We hope to conclude the meeting with concrete proposals for ways that the PV training community can work together to build and continuously improve instructional strategies, information technology tools, interactive curricular materials in an area of common interest, and ensure these materials are integrated into the state-of-the-art of the construction and solar industry.
The site of the conference, The Hyatt Regency Baltimore, (300 Light St, Baltimore) is located close to BWI International Airport and shuttles available between the airport and the conference location.
This workshop is being held in conjunction with the Transformative Change Initiative’s 2015Learning Lab that will be held on Feb 17th and 18th.
