Hi Glo.

Please distribute this required, mandatory training notice to current grantees. (I am also copying the Regional JT Coordinators so they will make sure to get their respective grantees to attend. I also advise they attend the training.) The seminar will cover the new JT Reporting Form and the new data elements we're asking grantees to report. ACRES should be updated in time for grantees to start submitting their reports by the time of the seminar.

July 12th, 2:00PM - "What's New with the JT Reporting Form?"
The details can be found at this URL: http://epa.gov/brownfields/pubs/acres/trainingschedule.htm

This seminar will also mark the close of the July 1512 reporting period for ARRA Brownfields Job Training grantees.

As a reminder, past grantees are encouraged to submit updated data for numbers trained, placed, average, starting hourly wage and funds leveraged. This is a required term and condition for present grantees.

In many instances, we know placements may occur following closeout of a grant or when access to ACRES has been suspended. However, EPA is urgently requesting grantees to submit this information. By having this data helps defend continuation of funding for the program and for EPA's reports to Congress. For those who no longer have access to ACRES, hard copy reporting forms may be submitted directly to your regional Job Training Coordinator or Joe Bruss. For a hard copy of the JT Reporting Form, please visit: http://www.epa.gov/brownfields/pubs/jt_reporting_form_and_instructions.pdf

Grantees who received funding as far back as 1998 are able to provide updated data for their past projects!
To date, EPA has funded 191 job training grants totaling over $42 million through the former Brownfields Job Training Program and newly expanded Environmental Workforce Development and Job Training Program. As of January 2012, approximately 10,275 individuals had completed training and approximately 7,155 obtained employment in the environmental field, with an average starting hourly wage of $14.12. This equates to a cumulative placement rate of approximately 70% for the program, and also includes accomplishments data recorded since the program was created in 1998.

If there are questions, please do not hesitate to contact either Joe Bruss, bruss.joseph at epa.gov<mailto:bruss.joseph at epa.gov>, or Ryan Smith, smith.ryan at epa.gov<mailto:smith.ryan at epa.gov>.

Thanks so much,

Joe
