Organic Reactions and Biofuels

Lesson goal: To react methanol with restaurant fryer waste oil (soybean) to synthesize biodiesel.

You will also test several properties of ethanol biodiesel and conventional petroleum fuels to compare them with other organic compounds. In this way you will examine how the microscopic structure of molecules influences their macroscopic physical properties.
