This instructional module was created at the 2010 ATEEC Fellows Institute with the theme of Flood Management.
This module contains a set of activities that ask students to investigate the characteristics of drainage basins of rivers in order to understand the relationships between landscape and the movement of water across the landscape surface. By studying the relationship between watershed characteristics and flood events students will be able to address ecological and social issues associated with watershed management using natural controls.
The learning activities include:
- "Mapping a Watershed"
- "Natural Flood Control"
- "Floods Happen: A Microscale Look at Watershed Flood Management" (presentation)
